About Togenag
The tool between the hand hoe and the tractor.
Togenag builds non-standard agricultural tools for farm and garden — for growers with more ground than a hand hoe can cover and less than a tractor can justify.
Why this tool exists
There is a size of growing operation that equipment manufacturers have quietly stopped serving. A quarter acre. Two acres. A market garden, an incubator plot, a teaching farm, a serious kitchen garden. Too much ground to weed on your knees, not enough to justify putting a tractor against it.
What does exist at that scale is mostly built to a price — assembled to be replaced rather than repaired, and priced as though a season of hard use is an unreasonable thing to ask.
That gap is where we build.
The answer at this scale turns out to be older than the problem. A sharp blade, a wheel to carry the weight, and someone walking a row. It works because the wheel holds a consistent shallow depth — the hardest thing to do by hand, and precisely what surface weeding needs. Nothing to start. Nothing to refill. Nothing spinning your soil structure apart.
How we build
Four decisions, each one made the same way
Every choice below costs us something in manufacturing and gives it back to the person using the tool.
Square tube, not castings
Frames are 1.25 inch square steel tube, cut and drilled rather than cast. A casting is cheaper at volume and a cleaner shape — but when it cracks it is finished. Cut and drilled tube gets repaired in a farm shop.
Bolted, not welded
Nothing on the frame is welded shut. A worn blade or a bent tine comes off with a wrench, and the frame outlives every part attached to it.
Sized in inches
Dimensions, fasteners and replacement parts are all in inches, sourced for the US market. No metric hardware to hunt down in the middle of a season.
Adjusts to the person
A 1 inch telescoping slider sets handle height and wheel position, so the tool fits the person pushing it rather than the other way around.

Hand tools
Short and long handled tools for the work a wheel hoe can't reach — thinning, edging, and weeding in close.
Cultivation tools
Openers, tines and sweeps for breaking crust, shaping beds, and working soil between crops.
Sowing & planting tools
Drop seeders, dibbers and transplanting tools — consistent depth and spacing, one row at walking pace.
Garden infrastructure
Raised beds and growing structures, rolled out in minutes and emptied and stored just as fast.
Harvest tools
Cutting, lifting and bunching tools aimed at the slowest, most labour-hungry part of the season.
One toolbar accepts stirrup blades, cultivator tines, sweeps and furrowing bodies. Change the job without changing the tool.
What we don't build
No engine. No fuel. No chemical.
The oldest answer to weeding at scale is still the right one for a certain size of garden, and adding a motor to it mostly adds things that break, things to buy, and damage to soil structure you spent years building.
We also don't build for the showroom. Nothing on our tools is sealed. Every fastener is standard inch hardware. Nothing about a repair requires us — and that is the point. We would rather sell one frame and a decade of replacement parts than a new tool every four years.
It is not a marketing position. It is a decision made in the shop, and it costs us repeat sales.
